I
am not about controversy, however, not everyone will agree with my philosophies and opinions here.
Just remember,
advice and opinions are only valueable if you feel they apply to you. If you believe the information you find here doesn't
apply to you or your horse then I'm sure there's something out there that will work for you, but remember not necessarily
for the horse.
There are a lot of things horsey and some things not on this site, enjoy your stay and most of all we hope
you find this place resourceful and sincerely hope you get reassurance about issues concerning barefoot care and whole
natural care.
I am a Student Practicioner with the AANHCP . I currently
have a small clientel base of horses that I trim. I am open to new clients, however, my ultimate goal is to open a Hooves
Gone Wild Boarding Facility using the Paddock Paradise method. The future Hooves Gone Wild Boarding will be designed to bring the domestic ways and the wild ways to a middle
ground.
This
will provide a natural environent for the horses in my care. This type of boarding is not traditional horse boarding, but Natural Boarding where horses will actually be able to keep their
hooves self trimmed. Their hooves will actually become "Wild".
Natural hoof care will be a part
of the boarding care as well as all other care expected in a boarding facility. I am really excited about these plans,
however we are not set up at this time to start the program. Progress on this project will be kept up
to date on this site.
What does this mean? This means domestic horses in my care
will keep their domestic attitudes and will physically transform as close as possible to the Wild Horse Model.
There is much more that occurs in
this scenario than just physical benefit. Horses in my care become better grounded mentally as well.
This type of set up is great for long or short
term guests. High performance horses constantly on the go and do nothing but work work work and travel non stop get
burnt out. When they burn out they do what any prey animal does, they either fight you by doing nothing or fight you
by turning mean and angry. When a horse gets to this level it's time to decompress. The burnt out horse
works really hard and deserves a vacation, my plans include just the type of horse resort to get his mind back to being
a horse and not resenting humans or work.
Please read Sky Rocket's
story (this page still under construction).
We grow our own fertilized coastal
hay and I feed the lowest NSC feed available through ADM. Please go to the natural
boarding page to learn what ADM products I use.
I plan to also provide physical rehab for injuries
or illness recovery.
Please check out the AANHCP site for tons
of information about the Wild Horse and how they are a role model for your domestic horse. You will learn they are healthier
and more grounded and confident because they are allowed to live and socialize as they are meant to. Although short
of setting your horse free, my goal is to provide as much of an environment that will set your horse up for optimal mental
and physical health.
